Application
A bolt is an important mechanical component consisting of a head and a screw, which is a cylindrical body with external threads. The main function of bolts is to use them in conjunction with nuts to tighten and connect two parts with through holes. This type of connection is called bolt connection, which has the characteristic of being detachable, that is, by unscrewing the nut, the two parts can be separated.

There are various types of bolts, including but not limited to regular hexagonal head bolts, head hole hexagonal head bolts, hinge hole hexagonal head bolts, hexagonal flange bolts, square head bolts, semi-circular head square neck bolts, semi-circular head mortise and tenon bolts, countersunk square neck bolts, countersunk mortise and tenon bolts, T-shaped slot bolts, double headed bolts, U-shaped bolts, 7-shaped anchor bolts, 9-shaped anchor bolts, articulated bolts, etc. Each type of bolt has its specific application scenarios and characteristics. For example, double headed bolts are commonly used in situations where the connected parts are thick and frequently disassembled to avoid damage to threaded holes.

The performance level of bolts is usually divided into nine levels from 3.6 to 12.9, with 8.8 being a watershed, below 8.8 being ordinary bolts, and above 8.8 being high-strength bolts. The performance level of bolts consists of two parts, which represent the compressive strength value and yield strength ratio of the bolt material. For example, an 8.8 grade bolt indicates a tensile strength of 800 megapascals and a yield strength ratio of 0.8.
